It's an unpopular cult, but...

I'm genuinely surpised that a Texas appellate court has ruled in favor of the FLDS women who had their children taken. From the court ruling-

The existence of the FLDS belief system as described by the department's witnesses, by itself, does not put children of FLDS parents in physical danger.

and

The state's Department of Family and Protective Services "did not present any evidence of danger to the physical health or safety of any male children or any female children who had not reached puberty,"

All of which makes a lot of sense, hence my surprise.

So the kids in West Texas were abused...by Children's Protective Service (CPS).

Go figure...

I was surprised too, and pleasantly so. I'm really glad that this whole outrageous abuse of the rule of law will end more happily than it did the last time a weird religious cult in Texas drew the attention of the authorities.

The last time a "weird religious cult" drew the attention of authorities, the "authorities" were serving warrants on possible gun violation, which were validated with weapons being turned into automatics used to fire upon those officials.
Child abuse concerns have nothing even slightly to do with this.
Those kids won't be any more screwed up than the suburban teens who decided to shoot up Columbine, this time though, the authorities have no one else to blame but them selves when those kids "'lose it" on society from being raised in a place like that.
By the way I shot 74 in that wind Friday and was happy to do it, Boggy shot 70, the bastard...
