I've been enjoying the new Shins CD, which contains some superlative singles.
Standouts; Sleeping The Night Away, Australia with its brilliant XTCisms, and the Morrissey-meets-The-Beach-Boys Phantom Limb.
I was first introduced to them as a Portland, OR band, but I've since read that they're originally from Albuquerque. Between Calexico (from Tucson), and Denver's Devotchka I'm noticing a strong personal bias toward southwestern US bands these days.
