Gary Farber says I'm cruel and indifferent, and perhaps you as well. I argue.
He thanks me for arguing - But I'm glad you came by, Walter; my argument would be pointless with no one to argue against; thanks.
Likewise. He's distilled the argument against libertarianism to a simple point, that if we cut government services people will suffer and die.

Posted by Walter at January 12, 2005 08:03 AMI gave up on Gary last year. He stopped trying to argue honestly and started spouting cant. Maybe he's gotten better since the election ended, but I've seen no evidence of it.
Posted by: Andrew at January 12, 2005 09:46 AMCorrect me if I'm wrong, but how did we evolve for millenia without government.
Or were we ruled by some benevolent oligarchy of baboons that fed us, clothed us and doctored us until the FDR administration showed up?
