A bunch of new reciprocal additions to the blogroll, including Howard Bashman. He's linked to this site for who-knows-how-long now.
My philosophy for blogrolling has been to keep it short, but with so many good blogs linking here these days I'm giving up on that idea.
Posted by Walter at September 4, 2004 08:38 AMIt's still pretty short and it's still very good.
Posted by: zombyboy at September 4, 2004 10:05 AMMy own suggestion is to forget completely about reciprocity -- I see no obligation involved -- and forget about listing "good" blogs, because as you indicate, there are jillions of excellent blogs out there -- and list only those blogs you actually read.
But that's just one possible way to go, and only a suggestion, and there are innumerable other valid philosophies, of course.
Myself, I see little value in long lists. Even though I appreciate being listed, myself, if it's in a list of three hundred, I'm not apt to get many hits anyway, so even the directly selfish benefit is minimal. And as something I might use, they're not worth much.
My own blogroll is always far too long; I'd prefer to keep it to no more than 60, absolute tops. However, I am a bad, bad, man.
