Regular readers know I'm no friend of the Bush administration. Unlike certain more hysterical critics I try to limit my criticism to matters of policy, as opposed to complaints about the President's intelligence or his Texas drawl or how he spends his free time. Some criticisms make the critic look worse than the intended target.
Sometimes, the critic looks doubly foolish, as in the case of this letter in today's Denver Post:
The front-page story about President Bush's visit to Fort Carson neglected to point out that his stop to tell families how sorry he is about the deaths of their loved ones in his war in Iraq was a stop on his way to a vacation in Texas. Apparently he needs to rest up after his exhausting visit to the Queen of England, a trip which included five of his personal chefs, and his wrestling with Congress in order to make sure the big drug and insurance companies get more of seniors' money.

With classic timing, the front page of this same edition has the story of how the President's Texas vacation turned into a 'rest up' in Baghdad.
