Thanks for the nod, Walter. I lean to the market, but I do so with open eyes and am generally dubious of panaceas. In other words, I don't think that there is any one solution for anything. Clearly countries need investment in them in order to create jobs and develop the economy, but it's not going to solve everything. I also don't believe that government involvement will solve everything, either, but in the right hands and with enlightened leadership (sadly something too often lacking in both the public and private sector in Latin America) the market and government can have a positive impact.

I've been toying with the idea of starting a Latin America focused blog myself, but I scarcely have time for this one. Keep up the good work.
