Does Anyone Support This?

By now I hope everyone has heard of the latest drug war outrage. In case you haven't, here's the short version - students at a South Carolina high school are suspected of dealing drugs. The police are called into the school, and they conduct a full-blown raid, guns drawn, students ordered to the floor, suspects and non-suspects alike.

If I had a a child who was student there, who was held by the police at gunpoint, I'd want every last one of those officers, their superiors, and the school officials fired. No excuses. Talkleft has the story and appropriate comments.

Need I add that they didn't find any drugs?

I am a stratford high school student and I think that the media has tricked almost every one of you. It was not as bad as it looked. The sudents went on the first few days without even thinking about it just wondering how nobody was caught (by the way the current rumor on that is that they were tiped off) with drugs. Then the national news got ahold of the story two days later and everybody seemed to remember suddenly that they were tramatized. The guns were not pointed at the students the students were not thrown down as hard as the video portrays and Principle McCrakin is one of the best principles this school has ever had and truly did a brave thing in even asking for police help. THE MESURES WERE NECESSARY.
