The Rocky on Blogs

The Rocky Mountain News published today a feature on local blogs and blogging. Here's the opening:

Welcome to the world of blogging:

• Walter in Denver takes a flawed drug test to task.

Wow. I'm quoted extensively later in the article. For the second time now, a widely read print news source has featured this blog prominently. (The first being 5280 Magazine) It's way more than I expected. The Rocky is a tabloid format paper, and the article is introduced by an eye-catching full page graphic on the cover of the Spotlight section.

Matt Moore has a good overview of the article. He's interviewed along with Jeralyn Merritt and a blogger I haven't met, Danelle O'Shea.

So, welcome Rocky readers! The drug study story is here, and a follow-up here, but please do scroll down and peruse some other entries, and feel free to add your opinion via the 'comments' feature.

Update: Danelle says:

I feel a silly kind of proud, like Navin Johnson in the movie The Jerk. "The new phone books are here! The new phone books are here!"

I'm in the paper!

Oh wow! Not only quoted in the paper, but here as well. Too much. I'm going to be a regular reader here. Hope ya don't mind.

Walter, I think the Rocky did a really good job. I was glad to see you get interviewed at length and that they put some of your political credentials in the article. Keep up the great work!

I found your blog from the list in the Rocky Mountain News. (I mentioned that story on my blog today.)

I'm not a Coloradan, though I'd like to be. I do write a lot about the Taxpayers Bill of Rights on my blog (I'm advocating for a similar thing here in Tennessee).

My blog is
www.hobbsonline.blogspot.com
And there's a TABOR item at the top.

Congrat's on the mention! It's good to see the Colorado Blogs get some press.

Congrads.
I didn't know you were a golfer, of course the post about the cancelled tournament should have clued me in.
In my youth I played in bands that frequented the country club circuit in the south. I never got into golf myself but saw some of the finest courses the South has to offer. There are quite a few around Myrtle Beach, SC I'd recommened if you ever get out that way. Then again Hilton Head, SC has a few nice ones if you can stand the overpriced resort experience. & Ameila Island, Florida has some decent ones as well.
But again congrads on the mentions. Course it would have been cooler if the on-line article had actual links up instead of bare addresses (i.e. walterindenver.com)But any progress is good in their case. :)
