I'm trying to set up a Linux box with a copy of Linspire 4.5 I came across. My first impressions are good. It's quick to install, easy to undersand so far.
One problem - my Ricochet GS modem isn't communicating with it yet. Is anyone out there using one with a Linux system and can help a tech illiterate like me?

Well, I don't know diddly about it, but it's been discussed on the CLUE-Tech mailing list.
And welcome the the wonderful world of Linux. Before you get too wrapped up in Linspire, you might want to give Ubuntu a try. It's the latest, greatest thing, from what I hear. I have CDs ("Live" i.e. boot and run from a CD, and installation), although not the latest greatest. Be happy to get one to you anytime.
And check out the CLUE website.
Here's what I found about your modem. Email me if you need any pointers on the linux side of stuff... I know nothing about ricochet but am fairly linux and network literate.
