I've been hard enough on the deceased Pres.

Check out this devestatingly accurate take on the Reagan Presidency.

Found via Claire Wolf, who adds:

It still mystifies me that people still prefer to believe what politicians say in their speeches, rather than what they do.

I could go on, but Reagan is still the best President we've had in quite a while. That says quite a bit about the sad state of American politics.

If the cartoon is so accurate, then how could Reagan possibly be "the best President we've had in quite a while". Realistically, objectively, honestly, his eight years as president and the 4 following him were a national disaster (and what has followed that has not been a whole lot to cheer about). But at least we've become comfortable as voters in making lousy decisions.

Let's call em like we see em ok? Reaganomics and that little thing called the multi-trillion dollar deficit that he left us with was horrible for this country (that is at least for us dumb shmucks under the highest tax bracket). His foreign policy decisions still reverberate, like an earthquake, in today's world, but at least Ollie got a radio talk show. That was warm and fuzzy. Star Wars Defense was cool. James Bond and defense contractors thought so at least. So was making ketchup a vegetable in the public schools. But hey, he was a great actor. Ok, that's a lie too. What is the pattern we see here?

The nice thing is that once his foundation is done on their rampage across this country, we will have reminders of one of the worst presidents in history in every city and town across America. Can't wait!
