The Segway scooter, darling of gadget geeks everywhere, is being recalled. Reports say the Segway, when operated with the battery low, may pitch the passenger. So, instead of just reminding owners to keep the battery charged, they are recalling them all.
How many have been reported thrown off so far? Three. Not three thousand. Just three.
I doubt they've sold three thousand of the crappy scooters.
Regardless, in the sue-happy society we have, all it takes is one person to not pay attention, get a serious head injury, and sue them for the damage plus the fact that he smoked for 40 years and never knew it caused cancer.
It's cheaper, for them, I would imagine, to do this in the long run rather than waste money on court cases. Sad, but true.
